THE NORTH CAROLINA HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION PROUDLY PRESENTS THE STARS AWARDS “AN EVENING OF PATRIOTIC PROPORTIONS” SEPTEMBER 10TH, 2008 THE WESTIN HOTEL UPTOWN CHARLOTTE
The NCHBA STARS Awards took place during the 21st Century Building Expo & Conference on Wednesday, September 10th, at the Westin Hotel and the Charlotte Convention Center. The awards show recognizes home builders, sales and marketing professionals throughout North Carolina and celebrates the outstanding achievements of the state's builders, Realtors, on-site salespeople, and marketing professionals.
Schreiner Custom Homes was presented with a very prestigious award by the North Carolina Home Builders Association. The award for: Best Single Family Detached Home with a sales price of $500,000-$1,000,000 was presented to Schreiner for their custom home built in Preservation Point, on pristine Mountain Island Lake. This category was said to be highly competitive with the largest number of quality entries in The Stars Awards. The award’s prestige is amplified by the fact that only five home awards were represented in the forty plus awards distributed in this state-wide competition.
The particular residence honored by the NCHBA was built for a family who believe healthy living and proper design is a top priority for any housing investment. Schreiner Custom Homes used building science practices detailed in the NHBA Green Building Program and EnergyStar requirements. These were decisions that made sense to the client, whom trusted Schreiner to ensure proper indoor air quality, use of sustainable materials, and durable building techniques into their new home.
Schreiner has kept on top of their competition by meeting and incorporating the high standards of third party certified green programs Earth Craft House and Energy Star into their custom homes. They are presently pursuing LEED for homes program as well. “We are currently in the process of having a custom residence in the Overlook Neighborhood LEED certified through Southern Energy Management.” says Michael McMillan, Schreiner Custom Homes manager. “This is a program that has taken years to work up to...we are very proud to be working with Horne Heating and Air Conditioning, and our other trade partners on this USGBC Green Certified project.”
Schreiner Custom Homes is co-owned by Shawn and Steve Schreiner. Steve has been developing properties in the Charlotte and south east region for over twenty years.
